Yes, massage with or without oil is used if needed. But assessment followed by a treatment using pressure, release and mobilisation are the key elements of Amatsu

Amatsu is a fully clothed therapy. You should wear loose comfortable clothing (Jogging pants and T-shirt or similar). Please do not wear jeans or heavy or tight fitting clothing that restrict body movement.

After a treatment your body will need time to adjust and rectify itself. To get the best result from your treatment, try to avoid heading straight back into a busy and stressful schedule. Some will feel so refreshed and relaxed afterwards they need to sleep. You may experience some muscle soreness. This may change after each treatment and depend on the individual problem. Drink plenty of water after a treatment.

There isn’t a changing room, however clients can change in the treatment room in privacy.

Initial consultation session takes about 60 mins – £75

There is a nearby pay and display parking at Abergavenny bus station.

Appointments may be cancelled up to 48 hours before the scheduled appointment time without charge.

Cancellations within the 48 hours prior to the scheduled appointment will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

Amatsu therapy should not be used to replace medical treatment without consultation with your GP.

If unsure, please consult your Amatsu Therapy Practitioner and your GP for advice. Often patients are on medicines they would like to stop taking. You must consult with your GP before withdrawing any medication and should not suddenly stop taking medication without ensuring that it is safe to do so.
